Introduction
What DataMold is, and your first form from sign-in to the first response.
DataMold is a form builder with a data workspace behind it. You build a form, share it as a link, put it on your website or post to it from your own code, and every answer lands in a real table your team can filter, chart, export to Excel and send on to other systems.
How it fits together
- Organization. Everything belongs to an organization: its forms, responses, team, plan and wallet. Each organization has a database of its own, separate from every other one. You can belong to several and switch between them from the top of the app.
- Forms. Built in the builder from fields, layout blocks and rules. A form is a draft until you publish it.
- Responses. One submission of one form. Each gets a short reference code, and is stored with the time, where it came from (the hosted page, an embed, the API, an import or typed in by your team) and its answers.
- Your team. People you invite, each with a role that decides what they can see and change.
Your first form in four minutes
- Sign in. Go to Sign in and continue with Google, or create an account with your email and a password. An organization is created for you the first time.
- Create a form. Open Forms and choose New form. Start from a template — Contact us, Feedback, Event registration, RSVP, Job application, Support request, Order form — or from a blank form, and give it a name.
- Add your fields. Drag fields in from the panel, set their widths, mark the ones that are required, and add show-if rules where a question only matters after an earlier answer. See Building forms.
- Publish and share. Set the form to Published, then copy its link or its embed code from the Share tab. See Publishing & sharing.
- Work the answers. Responses appear under Data as they arrive. Filter them, save the views you use, chart them in Reports and export to Excel. See Working with responses.
